Although Savannah has its share of chain hotels and motels, the city's most distinctive lodgings are in more than two dozen historic inns, guesthouses, and B&Bs gracing the Historic District. If the term historic inn brings to mind images of roughing it in shabby-genteel mansions with antiquated plumbing, you'll find that to be the case in a few isolated instances.
