With its white-pillar front porch and period antiques, it's easy to see why this place is considered to be one of the region's top inns. The rooms have an aristocratic flair, with plush coverlets and embroidered pillows. There are also love seats, ornate window stoops, and tile fireplaces, as well as period antiques and heirloom-quality accessories. In the morning you can eat breakfast in your room, in one of the parlors, or in the gorgeous courtyard. It's an easy walk to downtown and the historic district.
