Herndon Home Review
Alonzo Herndon (1858-1927) emerged from slavery and founded both a chain of successful barbershops and the Atlanta Life Insurance Company. He traveled extensively and influenced the cultural life around Atlanta's traditionally black colleges. Alonzo's son, Norris, created a foundation to preserve the handsome Beaux-Arts home as a museum.
