Nightlife & The Arts in Atlanta

Read our Atlanta nightlife & the arts reviews. Or post your own.

Entertainment Overview

The pursuit of entertainment -- from Midtown to Buckhead -- is known as the "Peachtree shuffle." Atlanta's vibrant nightlife includes everything from coffeehouses to sports bars, from country line dancing to high-energy dance clubs. Atlanta has long been known for having more bars than churches, and in the South that's an oddity. Most bars and clubs are open seven nights, until 2 AM-4 AM. Those with live entertainment usually charge a cover.

For the most complete schedule of cultural events, check the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Friday "Weekend Preview" and Saturday "Leisure" sections. Also available for cultural and entertainment listings is the city's lively and free alternative newsweekly, Creative Loafing.
