Downtown
Downtown Atlanta clusters around the hub known as Five Points. Here you'll find the MARTA station that intersects the north-south and east-west transit lines, both of which run underground here. On the surface, Five Points is formed by the intersection of Peachtree Street with Marietta, Broad, and Forsyth streets. It's a crowded area, and traffic can be snarled in the early morning and late afternoon. With the opening of the Georgia Aquarium and the new World of Coca-Cola, which join the Imagine it! Children's Museum and the CNN Center, Downtown has taken on greater interest for travelers. Lush Centennial Olympic Park—built for the 1996 Olympic Games—is a great place to let your children play in the Fountain of Rings or to enjoy a take-out lunch.
