Fodor's Review

In Norway's dandy boat ride you pile into a 16-passenger, dragon-headed longboat for a voyage through time that, despite its scary name and encounters with evil trolls, is actually more interesting than frightful. The journey begins in a 10th-century village, where a boat, much like the ones used by Eric the Red, is being readied for a Viking voyage. You glide steeply up through a mythical forest populated by trolls, who cause the boat to plunge backward down a mild waterfall,

then cruise amid the grandeur of the Geiranger Fjord. Then you experience a storm in the North Sea and, as the presence of oil rigs signals the 20th century, end up in a peaceful coastal village. Disembarking, you proceed into a theater for a quick film about Norway's scenic wonders, culture, and people.

For people with disabilities: You must step down into and up out of a boat to ride. Equipped with reflective captioning and for assisted-listening, audio-description, or handheld-captioning devices. Grab a Fastpass appointment if the queue is long so you can return after lunch or dinner.
