Disney's Port Orleans Resort-Riverside Review

Buildings in this family-friendly, moderately priced resort look like Southern plantation-style mansions (in the Magnolia Bend section) and rustic bayou dwellings (in the Alligator Bayou section) and you can usually pick which section you want. The registration area looks like a steamboat interior; you can take horse and carriage rides along the river; and the 3½-acre, old-fashioned swimming-hole complex called Ol' Man Island has a pool with slides, rope swings, and a nearby play area.

Really loved this resort....especially for the money. The theming is great, food court and restaurant excellent. It has a bar and entertainment too. Pool was very fun for the kids. Will definitly be returning here. Plenty to do and see. Only downside....the shuttle was slow and the registration staff not very friendly or helpful. Other than that, excellent!

we expected more from a walt disney world resort. this was the only lodging choice on disney property that could accommodate a family of 5 with 3 children under age 11. Having 2 adjoining rooms with small children was not an option, and the available suites were over $3000 for the week (not including park passes or mealplans.) The room was small and housekeeping was poor. We did not receive fresh bed linens all week, and our daughter's pillowcase was turned inside-out by housekeeping when it got dirty; it was not replaced. Dirty glasses were not changed when requested. We had 2 full size beds; a decent and comfortable nights sleep for my husband and i was practically impossible after a long day in the parks. There was a pile of human feces on the sidewalk outside of our building (probably from a small child) that was left for days for guests to sidestep. A sewage like smell was constantly in the air. WDW should pay more attention to making their existing resorts better instead of putting in a new luxury golf resort (the 4 seasons). If we ever go back to WDW we will NOT stay on disney property.
