Boma takes Western-style ingredients and prepares them with an African twist. The dozen or so walk-up serving stations have entrées such as spit-roasted pork, spiced roast chicken, pepper steak, and banana leaf-wrapped sea bass or salmon. Don't pass up the soups, as the hearty chicken corn porridge is excellent. The zebra bones dessert is chocolate mousse covered with white chocolate and striped with dark chocolate. Breakfast includes conventional choices like omelets and pap, a porridge made with white corn meal. All meals are prix fixe (breakfasts are $17 for adults and $10 for kids 3-9; dinner is $27 for adults, $13 for children ages 3-9). The South African wine list is outstanding. Priority seating reservations are essential if you're not a guest at the hotel.

The buffet provides many familiar dishes with interesting twists. Make sure to try the zebra domes for dessert-delicious. And if you have allergies, or special dietary needs the chef is very accommodating as long as you let the restaurant know in advance.
