Any hotel that's an easy walk from Downtown Disney is by its very nature a great draw for tourists, so that's why the investors in this hotel poured $25 million into upgrading it when they re-invented the former Grosvenor Resort and turned it into the Regal Sun Resort in 2007. The multimillion-dollar makeover included redoing the lobby area with bamboo decor and new hardwood floors. The 619 guest rooms and seven suites were completely refurbished and now have red bed coverings and bright blue carpeting. The pool area was also totally redone with the addition of a clover-leaf "beach entry"-style swimming pool. Pros : within walking distance of Downtown Disney; free shuttle to all Disney attractions. Cons : inconvenient to Universal and downtown Orlando.
