Raglan Road Irish Pub

Raglan Road Irish Pub Review

An authentic Irish pub in Downtown Disney seems oxymoronic, particularly when that pub seats 600 people. But if Irish grub's your thing, Raglan's is the place to go. The shepherd's pie served here is of higher quality than the usual version, prepared with beef and lamb and jazzed up with house spices. And you don't have to settle for plain fish-and-chips (though you can for $19); there's also smoked salmon and maple glaze; shiitake risotto; and lamb shanks braised with rosemary jus. Three massive and ornate bars, all imported from Ireland and all more than a century old, help anchor the pub. The entertainment alone makes this place worth the visit. A house band, Creel, plays every evening except Sunday, and a trio of Irish dancers perform on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Even with the price, this restaurant was worth it. Great atmosphere (very close to what I saw in Ireland) and good food. I ordered the ham... side dishes were great too. My friend had the shepard's pie, and my taste of that was excellent as well. I did not have a dessert, but Ghirardelli's was just around the bend. Friendly service too. Not all nights have live entertainment, so be sure to check the schedule.
