Walt Disney World Orlando Sights

Updated 04/30/2014

Fodor's Review

If you've ever wondered what it's like to fly, or at least hang glide, this attraction is your chance to enjoy the sensation without actually taking the plunge. It uses motion-based technology to literally lift you in your seat 40 feet into the air within a giant projection-screen dome.

As you soar above the Golden Gate Bridge, Napa Valley, Yosemite, and other California wonders, you feel the wind and smell pine forests and orange blossoms. Navy buffs get a kick out of swooping over a massive aircraft carrier. The accompanying score created by Jerry Goldsmith (Mulan, Star Trek) builds on the thrill, and the crispness and definition of the film, projected at twice the rate of a typical motion picture, adds realism.

The flight is so mild (and the view so thrilling) that even very shy children love it. For people with disabilities: Those with mobility impairments must transfer from their wheelchairs to the ride system. Equipped for video-captioning devices. Service animals aren't permitted on the ride. Ride early or late or grab a Fastpass.

Soarin' Review

A spectacular experince! EPCOT's best! The preshow film featuring "head flight atendent" Patrick Warburton is just the begining of this spectacular flight over CA! While it isn't the fastest, it is the coolest. Everyone, with the exception of those who get motion sick easily, will LOVE this soothing flight. A MUST SEE!

Take Me Away...

A great addition by Disney. Ride it again and again, it's worth it! One of the few things EVER to come out of California.
