Rainforest Café

Fodor's Review:

You don't have to pay park admission to dine at the Rainforest Café, the only full-service eatery in the Animal Kingdom area, with entrances both inside the park and at the gate. Since it resembles the one in Downtown Disney Marketplace, complete with the long lines for lunch and dinner, go early or late. If you can, make reservations by phone ahead of time. The most popular entrée is "mojo bones," slow-roasted pork ribs in a tangy barbecue sauce. Other good choices include chicken-fried steak with country gravy, and shrimp en brochette (broiled jumbo shrimp stuffed with crabmeat, jalapeños, four cheeses, and wrapped in bacon). The coconut bread pudding with apricot filling and whipped cream is great. The best dessert choice is a toss-up between Gorillas in the Mist (chocolate-topped banana cheesecake) and the peanut butter pie, topped with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and peanuts. Breakfast, ranging from steak and eggs to excellent French toast, is served beginning at 7:30 in the morning.
