Why We Like It

The resort offers a deluxe spa, a delightful lazy river pool complex, great on-site food choices, very comfy beds and a central location.

Fodor's Expert Review

Families visiting this award-winning hotel get two pools, a palm-fringed lazy river to relax in, a kids' club, basketball court, tennis court, full-service spa, and a shuttle to SeaWorld; conventioneers, on the other hand, appreciate the vast meeting space, proximity to the Convention Center, substantial restaurants and bars, work desks with Herman Miller chairs, and an on-site steak house, Spencers. For those convention-goers who bring family along, the Hilton offers the best of both worlds. From the dramatic chandeliers in the spacious entry to the restrained decor, the hotel exudes elegance, but that doesn't stop anyone from having fun.

You Should Know This resort charges a $27 resort fee, which pays for Wi-Fi, fitness center, and recreational activities, but does give you discounts on restaurants and lounges, spa services, and cabana rentals. Self-parking is an additional $22 a day.

Room

Standard rooms come with two queen beds or one king bed, with crisp, white, duvet style linens and Hilton's trademarked Serenity Bed. A leather armchair provides a place to relax, and a work station with an ergonomic chair makes multi-tasking a breeze. Also in the room: a Cuisinart coffee maker, a mini fridge, large flat screen TV, and sufficient spots to recharge your various devices.

Special rooms for those suffering from allergies contain no feathers, the mattresses and pillows have special coverings, and the air is purified.

You Should Know The resort is, as of late 2017, upgrading the Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the resort.

Bathroom

The richly appointed bathroom features a dark granite vanity top, with one sink, a tub/shower combination or a glass enclosed shower, and ample Peter Thomas Roth products.

Lobby

The large lobby with its gleaming marble floors manages to be both grand and welcoming at the same time. Seating arrangements with reading lamps make for a pleasant place, with a living room vibe, to visit with friends and family. A bar, market shop and two restaurants are on the lobby level. The lower lobby level, connected by escalators and stairways, contains the spa, the fitness center and the pool entrance.

Pool

Whether you float along the lazy river, plunge down the water-slide, take a dip in one of the two pools, or relax in the whirlpool or cabanas, there are plenty of aquatic distractions at this resort.

Spa

The full-service eforea spa offers a full menu of massage treatments, from relaxing hot stone massage to a restorative deep-tissue sports massage. Facials, skin treatments, wraps and more can be packaged together or taken separately, as can the services at the salon. Either way, this spa offers you enough coddling to keep you relaxed and serene for the whole day. Robes, towels, sandals and lockers are provided.

Gym

The huge fitness center is open 24 hours a day, and offers a vast array of cardio, strength, functional and free-weight fitness equipment. The treadmills even have personal TV screens, just in case you need the daily news to fuel your workout.

Dining

The hotel's onsite eateries offer choices from a quick bite before heading to the parks, to a leisurely steak dinner. Spencer's is a traditional steak and chop restaurant, with dark wood and rich upholstery. The menu includes dry-aged Florida beef, local vegetables, local seafood, and a selection of rich sauces to go with your steaks. David's Club Bar & Grill offers gastropub fare, craft beers, cocktails, and an extensive wine list. Breakfast and lunch are served in a casual atmosphere in The Bistro, and there's always room service if you just can't be bothered going out.

You Should Know Because many guests are corporate travelers, the prices at the restaurants can reflect that inflated corporate expense account.

Drinking

The Lobby Bar offers a central spot to gather, with comfortable seating and a broad list of wine, beer and cocktails. For by-the-pool tropical cocktails and light fare, head for Tropics Pool Bar and Grill. David's Club Bar & Grill offers local microbrewery beers, along with other craft beers and an extensive wine list.

Activities

If you'd rather work out in the Florida sunshine, the hotel offers a 9-hole putting course, a tennis court, basketball court, volleyball court and bocce ball court.

Restaurants

The nearby neighborhood is International Drive, where world class restaurants await. The highest concentration of good eateries is at Pointe Orlando (5-minute drive) including The OceanAir Seafood Room, where seafood is king; Capital Grille, a classic chop and steakhouse; the atmospheric Cuba Libre Restaurant and Rum Bar. Farther along I-Drive, The Boston Lobster Feast (10-minute drive) is exactly what its name implies, an all you can eat seafood feast, including lobster. Look for the giant, red lobster consuming a small car. Shake Shack (12 minute drive) is a popular American burger spot.
