Disney's Hollywood Studios Feature

Hollywood Studios Kids Tour

Although young children probably won't appreciate all the movie nostalgia, they will likely get a kick out of Hollywood Boulevard's wacky street performers and the park's lively street parades and energetic stage shows.

The minute you enter, head straight to Toy Story Midway Mania! and get in line or grab your Fastpass. This interactive (and high-demand) ride is fun for all, even young children who have to learn how to operate their spring-action shooters to rack up midway points. If you can ride and get a Fastpass to come back, you'll be your kids' hero.

Now take a deep breath and lead the little ones to hands-on activities inside the Magic of Disney Animation (where they'll first enjoy a short film) and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure, where they can whoop their way through a larger-than-life playground.

Combine lunch with more playtime at the Play 'N Dine at Hollywood & Vine family buffet, where characters from Disney Junior: Live on Stage! mix and mingle with the children. Don't forget your camera and the kids' autograph books!

See the Characters Come to Life

Shows and attractions based on Disney films and TV series really grab young children. Check your Times Guide for performances of Beauty and the Beast: Live on Stage and Disney Junior: Live on Stage! After tots and preschoolers have danced along at the Disney Junior show, they can meet the characters in the Animation Courtyard, then catch a Beauty and the Beast performance or watch Ariel "under the sea" in Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

Check other character greeting locations and times—the Green Army Men from Toy Story put the kids through their marching paces on Pixar Place, and Mickey Mouse, Lotso from Toy Story 3, or the Incredibles might turn up at the Magic of Disney Animation. Make time before or after your Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure to meet Phineas and Ferb near Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano. Then watch Kermit display his wry wit and Miss Piggy steal the show at Muppet*Vision 3-D. It's not easy being green...

Grab the Spotlight

Tiny dancers can trip the light fantastic, and Jedi wannabes can suit up to clash with the Dark Force during shows scheduled throughout the day. Check the Times Guide to see when the Disney Channel Rocks! dance party cuts loose with pop tunes on Hollywood Boulevard—footloose kids are encouraged to hip-hop their way into the spotlight with Disney's energetic cast of performers. Just outside the Star Tours attraction, children ages 4–12 can grab a light saber and let the Force be with them during the Jedi Training Academy. During each 20-minute show, crowds gather and cheer the kids as they learn to "cut to the left shoulder, step back, and duck!" when clashing with a costumed Darth Vader. Needless to say, the Dark Force can't compete.
