Eighth Voyage of Sindbad Review

The story line of this live stunt show is simple: Sindbad and his sidekick Kabob arrive in search of treasure, get distracted by the beautiful Princess Amoura, and are threatened by the evil sorceress Miseria. That's all you really need to know, and it's enough to get the good guy kicking off 25 nonstop minutes of punching, climbing, diving, leaping, and Douglas Fairbanks-ing his way through the performance. Kids are pleased with the action, and women are pleased with Sindbad. The downside is that it's sometimes hard to understand the stuntmen who (1) aren't exactly actors and (2) lip-sync to a script that's not always as funny as the writers intended. Still, you'll probably be satisfied by the water explosions, flames, and pyrotechnics that end with a daring, flaming high dive. Also, the 1,700-seat theater is a nice place to sit a spell and replenish your energy. For people with disabilities: The theater is wheelchair accessible and is equipped for assisted-listening devices. Some shows have sign language interpreters. Find seats about 15 minutes before showtime. Don't sit too far up front—the experience is better a few rows back.
