Twister... Ride It Out
Twister... Ride It Out Review
After you proceed through a slow-moving line and hear a so-so discussion about the destructive force of tornadoes, you arrive in a standing-room theater – and this is where the magic happens. As you face a pastoral town setting, a make-believe windstorm builds in the distance and soon becomes an ominous five-story-high funnel cloud that weaves in from the background until it commands center stage. Amid the cacophony created by 110 decibels of wind noise, crackling electrical lines, and shattered windows, a truck, signs, car, and a cow earn frequent-flyer points by sailing across the stage. Then when the roof starts to blow off, your instinct is to head for the root cellar. Don't. Stay to marvel at the work of the special-effects masters who put this together, only to have it torn apart every few minutes. For people with disabilities: The theater is wheelchair accessible. Strong sound effects and assisted-listening devices make it possible for people with vision impairments to enjoy the show. Use a Universal Express Pass or come first thing in the morning or at closing.
