Universal Orlando Feature

Universal Shopping

Universal makes shopping simple. At the Studios the merchandise is geared toward the attractions themselves; nearly every themed ride channels you from the exit into a gift shop with related merchandise.

At Islands of Adventure the merchandise varies in each section of the park. If you simply must have a Spider-Man T-shirt or Incredible Hulk coffee mug, for example, head to Marvel Superhero Island.

Don't worry if you miss something. Kiosks throughout the parks are loaded with wares. And, with the exception of Harry Potter souvenirs (which are available only within the shops of his Wizarding World), you'll find a cross-section of merchandise at the largest stores of both parks: Universal Studios Store at the Studios and the Trading Company at IOA.

Top Areas

If you just pass through the parks focused on the main attractions, you may not even notice that you're essentially walking through an outdoor mall. That said, there are a few key shopping areas.

Universal

The largest collection of stores is near the park gates around Production Central and Hollywood. Here the inventory ranges from silver-screen collectibles to the usual souvenirs and kitsch. The Universal Studios Store offers one-stop shopping, while It's A Wrap, by the exit gates, sells significantly discounted merchandise.

Islands of Adventure

The largest concentration of stores is near the gates at the Port of Entry. And, as at Universal Studios, a central emporium—the Trading Company—carries nearly every coveted collectible from nearly every park shop. Hogsmeade Village in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is the place for Potter-related memorabilia and wizard supplies.

CityWalk

This 30-acre entertainment and retail complex is at the hub of promenades that lead to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Shops here sell fine jewelry, cool beachwear, fashionable clothing, and stylish accessories. The best stores are near the entrance/exit of the complex.

Wet 'n Wild

You may not need a lot when you're hanging out wearing a bathing suit, but even Wet 'n Wild knows that you probably will need (or want) something. One store—the Breakers Beach Shop—carries beachwear, assorted gear, towels, and sundries.

Top Souvenirs

Each park has an item or two that tells folks where you've been (and that you're a savvy shopper). Here are a few top picks.

Shop like Homer. Near the Simpsons Ride at Universal Studios, Marge wigs and Homer T-shirts or boxer shorts are natural choices at Apu Nahasapeemapetilon's Kwik-E-Mart.

Shop like an Egyptian. Several stores carry super-hero and film-themed souvenirs—from Spider-Man gear and Incredible Hulk fists to Egyptian hats and clothing from The Mummy.

Pair Up. At Seuss Landing in IOA, Thing 1 and Thing 2 T-shirts are always a hit with couples and siblings. Or how about a couple of red-and-white-striped Cat in the Hat mugs?

Make Some Magic. Visit IOA's Wizarding World of Harry Potter and you may find yourself heading home with a wand, omnioculars, quaffle ball, Hogwarts robe, or a Nimbus 2000 broomstick.

Dry Off. Check out Wet 'n Wild's beach towels—one of the few souvenirs you may actually use after you go home.

Top Shops

Universal Studios

Brown Derby. Felt fedoras, bush hats that seem straight from wardrobe for Jurassic Park, Cat in the Hat red-and-white stovepipes, and Duff beer mug hats are among the many novelty chapeaus for sale at this Hollywood store. Hollywood, Universal Studios, Universal Orlando, FL, 32819.

Kwik-E-Mart. This re-creation of the animated original from the Simpsons is one of the park's most popular shopping stops. You'll find Kwik-E-Mart (Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, proprietor) caps and smocks, Duff Beer mugs, Lard Lad donuts, Marge-style blue bouffant wigs, and Homer T-shirts packaged in Duff Beer cans. World Expo, Universal Studios, Universal Studios Orlando, FL, 32819.

Silver Screen Collectibles. The Queen of Comedy, Lucille Ball, still makes people smile—and makes a wonderful subject for souvenirs from cookie jars to aprons. Celebrity photos, books on TV and film, and the world's largest selection of Betty Boop souvenirs also feature prominently in this shop perfectly located near the entrance/exit. Hollywood, Universal Studios, Universal Orlando, FL, 32819.

Universal Studios Store. This sizable store doesn't have all the merchandise that's sold in individual park gift shops, but as the park's central shopping destination, it does have most of it—and some of the best, including T-shirts, stuffed animals, and limited-edition Universal trading pins. A big plus is that you'll also find popular merchandise sold primarily at Islands of Adventure. Production Central, Universal Studios, Universal Orlando, FL, 32819.

Islands of Adventure

Trading Company. The rambling emporium inside the entrance/exit of IOA is the largest store in the park. It's filled with a little something of everything from everywhere, even items from the attractions of Universal Studios. Here you'll find Shrek, SpongeBob, Spider-Man, the Simpsons, superheroes, and puh-lenty of Potter products plastered on sandals, frames, mugs, cups, caps, and clothing. Islands of Adventure, Universal Orlando, FL, 32819.

Dinostore. Above a juvenile chorus of "I want this!" are adults counseling their kids on what they actually need. It's a monumental task in this large store, which sells dino hats, shorts, necklaces, cards, mugs, squirt guns, figurines, and the clever T-Rex T-shirt emblazoned with the helpful suggestion "Bite Me." There are educational dino toys, too. Jurassic Park, Islands of Adventure, Universal Orlando, FL, 32819.

Dervish and Banges. Count on cracking open your wallet in the main repository of Potterabilia. There are Hogwarts school uniforms; hundreds of wands; broomsticks, including the top-of-the-line Nimbus 2000 and Firebolt; magical items such as sneakoscopes, spectrespecs, and omnioculars; and "all your Quidditch needs," including the elusive Golden Snitch. Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Islands of Adventure, Universal Orlando, FL, 32819.

CityWalk

Cigarz. Still smokin' for a stogie? This is the place to visit for its walk-in humidor, full-length bar, and plenty of tables and ashtrays for enjoying labels like Opus X and Diamond Crown Maximus.

Hart and Huntington Tattoo Company. Universal Studios never wants you to forget that it's edgy and wild, so pick out your design, and then show off what's sure to be your most unusual Orlando souvenir.

Quiet Flight. You'll find surf clothes and beachwear, bags, watches, jewelry, and more here, but no boards. Still, it's a cool, rambling store that features Billabong, Oakley, Quicksilver, and other signature lines.
