The Tampa Bay Area Places

St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg and the Pinellas coast form the thumb of the hand that juts out of Florida's west coast and grasps Tampa Bay. Two distinct parts of St. Petersburg hold most of the appeal: the arty, sometimes upscale, sometimes rowdy downtown and cultural area located on the bay front, and the mellow but pricey Pinellas beaches, a string of barrier island towns facing the gulf and including St. Pete Beach and Treasure Island. Causeways link beach communities to the mainland peninsula.
