Yet another happening spot inspired by the St. Pete of yesteryear, this newly minted steak house sits in what was once a historic YWCA building. Possibly the only independent steak house in St. Petersburg, it gets its name from the late-baroque art movement and displays the work of local artists on its walls. Steak is obviously the main draw—corn-fed, aged, you name it—but the menu goes well beyond the normal steak-house bounds. On a given night, you can find elk,
swordfish, or any number of less typical denizens of the land and sea, for those who are not enamored of beef. The chef is also attentive to special diets here, including the needs of gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan diners. Craft cocktails have a local flair, and the beer and wine selection is expansive. It's really one of the best options in town for a romantic night out in St. Pete.
