No visit to Sarasota is complete without a visit to this busy yet laid-back shopping and dining hub. One can literally refer to it as a hub because it's arranged around a large traffic circle in the middle of Lido Key. You'll find a sprinkling of upscale retail chains, including White House Black Market, but the area's small, imaginative boutiques are the real draw. Among them is Foxy Lady, which sells trendy women's clothing. The Met is also a good option for women's fashion. Carmen's is a good choice for shoes, and Taffy's offers some stylish menswear. St. Armand's Circle also offers planty of dining/desert (especially ice cream) options, nightlife, and just plain people watching. Some days you can even spot a busker or two performing on one of the area's many street corners.
