Fodor's Review:

Expect something special—a modern property and one of the few uncluttered beaches in the area. The nine-story resort is set on 10 well-manicured acres, and many rooms have excellent gulf views; others keep an eye over an adjacent park. All rooms have balconies or patios, those on higher floors have beautiful views of the water. Considered one of the top convention hotels in the area, the resort has amenities—such as a beautiful private beach—that make it ideal for leisure travelers, too. Pros: private beach; great views. Cons: near crowded Clearwater Beach; views come with a high price tag.

We usually go to the Westin in Hilton Head but tried something different this year. Very disappointed. The beach is very FAR from the hotel, a long walk. Very hard with small kids, play equipment, chairs, etc. The pool is the smallest pool I have EVER seen at a resort and very crowded. The room was re-done and was fine although the bathroom was very tiny but it was sufficient. Restaurants were fair at best. We did go to the Marriott across the street and liked it much more! I'm a huge SPG fan but this just did not rank up there with other properties.
