Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina Review

Across from the Tampa Convention Center, this downtown hotel was built for conventioneers but is also convenient to tourist spots such as the Florida Aquarium and the Channelside and Hyde Park shopping districts. At least half the rooms and most of the suites overlook the concrete-walled channel to Tampa Bay, which has sparse boat traffic except on weekends; the bay itself is visible from the higher floors of the 27-story tower. The pillared lobby has real palm trees growing out of the gleaming tile floors, and the coffee bar overlooks the water. Il Terrazzo is the hotel's formal dining room.

We stayed at the Marriott in July 07. Our room was so small. The beds were even smaller. The double beds were a joke. We asked to be moved to a king room. The king bed --was not a king - it has to be some sort of special Marriott king size bed. The service was OK. They made us feel like they were doing us a favor every time we asked for something small. The carpet was DIRTY. The sheets were clean at least. The hotel smelled bad and was SOLD OUT with a cruise ship that was taking off the next day. We have never been more miserable in a hotel. Don't waste your time or money! Please and we are NOT picky.
