Pinewood Cultural Park

Fodor's Review:

Three out-of-the-way but worthwhile attractions grace this space. Florida Botanical Gardens (12175 125th St. N, Largo, 33774. 727/582-2200. www.flbg.org. Free. Daily 7-7) welcomes you to 150 acres of native and exotic ornamental plants. Demonstrations teach environmentally friendly gardening techniques. The University of Florida Pinellas County Extension maintains the gardens. More than 27 historic local structures are gathered at Heritage Village (11909 125th St. N, Largo, 33774. 727/582-2123. Donations accepted. Tues.-Sat. 10-4, Sun. 1-4), including a log cabin and Victorian-era home, tracing local history back to the 1850s. Gulf Coast Museum of Art (12211 Walsingham Rd., Largo, 33774. 727/518-6833. www.gulfcoastmuseum.org. $8. Tues.-Sat. 10-4, Sun. noon-4) completes the complex with permanent showings of Florida artists and visiting exhibits.
