The Tampa Bay Area Restaurants

Sandbar Seafood & Spirits

Updated 04/24/2014

Fodor's Review

If the grouper is not fresh, it is not on the menu at this beachfront restaurant. Ordered blackened, it can hold its own against the Island Salad made with mangoes, Gorgonzola, passion fruit, and pralines. The popular fish also goes over well here in taco form. Other fresh seafood options include a spicy Szechuan tilapia sandwich, and crab cakes and crab-crusted sea scallops, a blend of the Chesapeake and the Gulf. The outside deck sits on the beach—the view is spectacular and a great place to watch the sunset.

I don't want to leave this place

We found the perfect spot for fresh seafood, a relaxing atmosphere and an awesome view and sunset. When you visit Anna Maria Island just west of Bradenton you have to go to the Sandbar, Beachhouse or Mar Vista for the best food, drinks, service and views of the gulf. Your table sits right on the beach. You can even go take a dip in the Gulf and then come back to your frozen Pina Colada at your table. Live music, a great retail shop and fun people

make these restaurants the ones to go to when on the Island.

Great food and Sunsets go together!

I have been to the Sandbar many times and only gets better. Outside deck is fun in the sun with live music and good food right on the beach.
