The Cypress, a Bed & Breakfast Inn Review

The only bed-and-breakfast in downtown Sarasota, the inn has a delightful assortment of themed rooms. The Martha Rose Suite has French accessories with a balcony overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, a sitting area, and a separate powder room. French doors in the Mango Suite open onto a garden, and the furnishings include a couch, armchair, and Victorian writing desk. Aptly named, Kathryn's Garden Room has a floral feel with wicker furnishings, a sitting area, and views of live oaks and mango trees. The two-room Victorian-style Elizabeth Brittany Suite has an oak high-back bed and tropical sitting room. And the Essie Leigh Key West Room has a front-porch view of the bay, a pewter-and-brass bed, and private entrance. All have private baths and access to the boccie court. Rates include full breakfast and afternoon hors d'oeuvres and refreshments. Guests under 21 aren't permitted.
