John Gorrie Museum State Park

John Gorrie Museum State Park Review

Although they call this a state park, it's really just a small building that honors the local physician credited with inventing ice-making and (almost) air-conditioning. Although Dr. John Gorrie was hampered by technology, later air-conditioning patents used Gorrie's discoveries that initially used an ingenious process for cooling rooms to alleviate the suffering of yellow fever victims. Exhibits of Apalachicola history are displayed here as well.
