Boatyard

Boatyard Review

The same folks who operate Schooners on the beach side opened this larger, more stylish establishment overlooking a marina on the Grand Lagoon. For dinner, choose from the five-spice seared tuna, spicy bowtie pasta with shrimp, or the aptly named Fried Shrimp You Can't Live Without. The coconut-and-plantain-crusted grouper is a knockout, as is the pan-roasted catch with bacon, mushrooms, and grits (this is definitely the South). There are a kids' menu, an extensive wine list, a full bar, and flat-screen televisions, and the upstairs deck area is a great place to get away from the beach for a long, lazy lunch or romantic sunset dinner. Be aware that Boatyard kicks into high gear at sundown, transforming into one of the hottest nightspots in town.

Not a big fan. Lots of hype, but the food is not very good. If you want to skip dinner, the night life there is pretty cool though. Usually have pretty good bands.
