Fodor's Review:

Beach access, golf nearby, and top-shelf luxury are all yours at the Naples Grande. If the links aren't your thing, a recently opened Golden Door Spa just might be. Accommodations are spacious and comfortable at this high-rise hotel. One of the glories of the property—at least for families—is the immense free-form family pool and 100-foot waterslide. The hotel sits behind dusky, twisted mangrove forests; to get to the 3 mi of powdery white sand, it's a short walk or tram ride. Indigenous cypress and pines frame the Naples Grande Golf Club, the hotel's 18-hole Rees Jones-designed course. Pros: great tennis and golf; top-notch dining. Cons: not on the beach; high room rates.

Formerly the Registry Resort, the Naples Grande now features stark, modern decorating in the lobby. The pool area is nice & the rooms are comfortable but the new, modern feel of the place did not impress us. My wife went for a pedicure in their spa. While the pedicure itself was good, the spa did not rate highly with her & the fact that they charge a "spa fee" in addition to the cost of the pedicure (and you'll pay a "resort fee" for the pleasure of staying there as well). The (.8 mile long) boardwalk to the beach is pleasant whether you ride or walk and the beach continues to be a great destination.
