Shalimar Review

Well-maintained grounds and an inviting beach appeal at this small property. Units occupy tin-roof two-story cottages and a two-story motel set back from the beach amid palm trees and other subtropical greenery. The small pool is in the courtyard, and there are barbecue grills.

If you're willing to pay top dollar for a room right (and I mean right) on the beach with fantastic views the Shalimar is your kind of motel/cottages. The "resort" also has well-kept grounds and a pleasant, if not large, pool. Other than that expect sheets that feel only a little smoother than cardboard, furnishings that Uncle Milton or Aunt Mary might have donated to you during college, lanai furniture that leaves rust stains on your clothing and customer service that includes scolding and carping.
