This place is just far enough "off 5th" for privacy and convenience. Right off a Tuscany postcard, it feels quite villalike with its red-tile roofs and burnt-ochre stucco. The privately owned studios and suites, with earthy hues and terra-cotta tiles, huddle three-story high around a beautifully tiled pool, fountain, and courtyard. Private cabanas line the pool on two sides, and Zizi restaurant spills out onto the patio on another. The studios have in-room whirlpool tubs with plantation shutters opening onto the master bedroom so you can watch TV from your bubble bath. A spa takes the resort's new Green Lodging designation seriously with all organic products and linens. Pros: near shops and restaurants; spacious rooms; screened patio or balcony. Cons: must take shuttle to beach; on a busy highway; average restaurant.
