"You hook 'em, we cook 'em" is the motto here. Alas, "cleanin' 'em" is not part of the bargain. If you bring in your ready-for-the-grill fish, dinner here is $12 for a single, $13 per person family style with a mix of preparations. Otherwise, they'll catch and prepare you a plank-roasted yellowtail snapper, Thai-seared tuna, fish of the day baked with 36 herbs and spices, or a little something from the raw bar. The ceviche of yellowtail, shrimp, and conch (merrily spiced) wins raves, too. The seafood burrito on the sandwich board is a keeper. All this is served up in a lively, mangrove-ringed waterfront setting with live music, an aquarium bar, Sunday brunch (including a Bloody Mary bar), killer rum drinks, and seating alongside the fishing dock. Three-course early-bird dinner specials are available 5-6 for $18.50.

    We stayed in Key Largo for one day on our way to Key West. Went to Snapper's for lunch and it was well worth the trip. I had pan-roasted yellowtail snapper with vegetables and polenta. The fish and vegetables were both very fresh but the sauce was a bit too sweet, and portion a bit small. My husband had a grilled snapper sandwich. The best fish sandwich I've ever tasted! And the portion is generous.

    We sat out on the patio facing the habour. The atmosphere is very good for Key Largo. But compared to Key West, Key Largo seems to lack a bit of elegance. But well, it was a great lunch. Definitely stopping by next time we visit key west too.
