Sunset Key

Fodor's Review:

This private island retreat feels completely cut off from the world, yet you're just minutes away from the action. Board a 10-minute launch to 27-acre Sunset Key, where you'll find sandy beaches, swaying palms, flowering gardens, and a delicious sense of privacy. A favorite of yacht owners, the hotel has a 40-slip marina. The comforts are first-class at the cluster of one-, two-, and three-bedroom cottages at the water's edge. Baked goods, freshly squeezed juice, and a newspaper are delivered each morning. Each of the accommodations has a kitchen, but you can use the grocery shopping service or hire a private chef (both for a fee, of course). You can use all the facilities at the Westin Key West Resort in Old Town. But be warned that you may never want to leave Sunset Key and its great restaurants, pretty pool, and very civilized beach complete with attendants and cabanas. Pros: peace and quiet; roomy verandas; free 24-hour shuttle. Cons: luxury doesn't come cheap.
