Jacobs Aquatic Center
Jacobs Aquatic Center Review
Take the plunge at one of three swimming pools: an 8-lane, 25-meter lap pool with a diving well; a 3- to 4-foot-deep pool accessible to people with mobility problems; and an interactive play pool with a waterslide, pirate ship, waterfall, and sloping zero entry instead of steps.

Went there on a warm 75 degree day at noon with the kids over New Year's weekend, 2009. They charged for kids and adults. We were there for 15 minutes with the kids trying to acclimate to the freezing cold water. When we asked for a refund the reply was none other than a sarcastic aptly aged utterance of "yea right." 26$ for 15 minutes. NO REFUND. No water temp was posted. No supervisor/manager over the age of 20 was visible from the front office to the children's and handicapped area, and even the swim /dive deck. There were at least 4 young employees that saw us pay, walk in, get our feet wet and walk out. Our arrival prompted a lifeguard to be on duty in that area. BE FOREWARNED, unfriendly, immature, unprofessional, poorly managed staff could equal UNSAFE conditions. If the Principals do not care at the top then who the hell cares at the bottom.

A friend & I are thinking of taking our annual spring break to Sarasoga and Siesta Key.
Can you recommend this or would you recommend somewhere else that might have a tropical island feel?
