Observation Tower

Fodor's Review:

At the Shark Valley trail's end (really, the halfway point of the 15-mi loop), you can climb the ramp of this tower built in 1984. It spirals skyward 50 feet (about 108 steps). Once on top, you see the River of Grass spreading out as far as the eye can see. Observe water birds as well as alligators and, perhaps even river otters crossing the road.
