Go out on the wide veranda here to take in views across mangroves and Biscayne Bay. Inside the museum, artistic vignettes and on-request videos explore the park's four ecosystems. Among the facilities are the park's canoe and tour concessionaire, rest rooms with showers, a ranger information area, a gift shop, and vending machines. Various ranger programs take place daily during the busy fall and winter months. On the second Sunday of each month from January through May, the Family Fun Fest program offers three hours of hands-on activities for kids and their families. Rangers also give informal tours of Elliott and Boca Chita keys; arrange in advance. Outside are picnic tables and grills. A short trail and boardwalk lead to a jetty. This is the only area of the park accessible without a boat.
