Fodor's Review:

A must for anyone who wants to experience the real Everglades, this small center with a bookstore and vending machines permits access to the Anhinga Trail boardwalk, where in winter spying alligators congregating in watering holes is almost guaranteed. Or follow the neighboring Gumbo Limbo Trail through a hardwood hammock. Both strolls are short (½ mi), worthwhile, and expose you to two Everglades ecosystems. Rangers conduct daily Anhinga Ambles in season (check for dates by calling ahead or visiting the Web site) starting at 10:30. At 1:30 the Glades Glimpse program takes place daily in season. Ask also about starlight walks and bike tours in season.

  • Open: Daily 8-4:15
