Shark Valley

You won’t see sharks at Shark Valley. The name originates from the Shark River, also known as the River of Grass that flows through the area. Several species of shark swim up this river from the coast (about 45 miles south of Shark Valley) to give birth, though not at this particular spot.

The Shark Valley entrance to Everglades National Park is on U.S./Highway 41 (Tamiami Trail), 25 miles west of Florida's Turnpike or 39 miles east of State Rd. 29.
