Fodor's Review:

Business and downtown professionals flock to this northern-Italian-style rooftop restaurant for two reasons: good service and great views of the bay, city, and, on clear days, sunsets along the gulf. Crowd pleasers include veal tenderloin with a crabmeat and lobster gratin bonnet that comes with mustard sauce on the side. Another specialty is rack of lamb with Gorgonzola potatoes. For those with a gamier hankering, there's pan-seared boar with apple-parsnip puree.

Great food, happy guests

Too bad the ratings only go as high as 5! Armani's is a spectacular experience thanks to chef Castaneda and his staff. The food is spectacular, the wine list extensive, the view one in a million. We spent several hours enjoying ourselves there and never felt rushed, only welcomed. It is expensive but similar to high end gourmet restaurants in other large metropolitan areas. Do not expect typical Italian food, it is much more than that, and there is a regular following of locals to speak to that. The decor is a bit dated, this is not a brand new hotel, but the contemporary food and attentive staff more than make up for that. Plus: the view! Highly recommend Armanis.

Best upscale restaurant in Tampa/St. Petersburg region!

My partner and I have been coming to Armanis for almost a decade now, and I continue to be impressed with the food and service. We had drinks at the bar beforehand and enjoyed the view. The fennel dusted sea bass and lamb dishes we tried were done expertly (note, the menu has changed from the description given on this website). We also enjoyed the lobster bisque and antipasti bar where you can select from an array of cheeses, cured meats, seafood, and olives. The staff is always very attentive and knowledgeable about the food. Considering that we were there on what seemed to be a very busy night, our table was never neglected and the food arrived right away. These are true professionals and I would rate this among the very best restaurants in the region.

Great Wedding Spot

My husband and I were married at the Hyatt this year and couldn't have imagined a better place to have our reception than Armani's. The staff was friendly and the food was great. They made our day very special.

Not a 5 Star Experience

We were guests at the Grand Hyatt, where Armani's is located. The Fodor's guide book had given Armani's its recommedation, so we wanted to try it. The restaurant is located at the top of the hotel's tower, so it has a great view of Tampa Bay. The bar is very nice, having the same view, as well as a piano player. The staff was very nice, but the service was just not "up to par." There were long waits between courses and at one point, the waiter nudged my elbow and said something like "How is everything, buddy?" Friendly, sure, but not the type of address you'd expect in a restaurant supposedly at this level. The food was okay (we both had the signature veal dish), but nothing very special. For the price, you could do much, much better.
