Fodor's Review:

This is a supreme spot for sun, sand, and surf. On 10 well-manicured acres, the nine-story, T-shaped resort has many rooms with excellent gulf views, and others that look out over an adjacent park. All rooms have balconies or patios. Considered one of the top corporate-meeting and convention hotels in the Clearwater area, the resort has amenities -- such as a beautiful private beach -- that make it ideal for leisure travelers, too. Pros: private beach, great views. Cons: Clearwater Beach crowds just off-property.

  • Hotel Details: 375 rooms, 15 suites

  • In-hotel: 4 restaurants, room service, tennis courts, bars, children's programs (ages 3-15), pool, gym, beachfront, water sports, some pets allowed, no-smoking rooms.

Feels old and worn out!

We usually go to the Westin in Hilton Head but tried something different this year. Very disappointed. The beach is very FAR from the hotel, a long walk. Very hard with small kids, play equipment, chairs, etc. The pool is the smallest pool I have EVER seen at a resort and very crowded. The room was re-done and was fine although the bathroom was very tiny but it was sufficient. Restaurants were fair at best. We did go to the Marriott across the street and liked it much more! I'm a huge SPG fan but this just did not rank up there with other properties.
