Amtrak connects West Palm Beach with cities along Florida's east coast and the northeast daily. Since Hurricane Katrina hit Florida and the Gulf Coast in 2005, the Sunset Limited no longer connects West Palm Beach to New Orleans. Included in Amtrak's service is transport from West Palm Beach to Okeechobee; the station is unmanned. Tri-Rail, the commuter rail system, has 13 stops altogether between West Palm Beach and Miami, where tickets can be purchased. The one-way fare is $5.50.
