John D. MacArthur Beach State Park & Nature Center

Fodor's Review:

Almost 2 mi of beach, good fishing and shelling, and one of the finest examples of subtropical coastal habitat remaining in southeast Florida are among the treasures here. To learn about what you see, take an interpretive walk to a mangrove estuary along the upper reaches of Lake Worth. The nature center, open daily 9-5, has exhibits on the coastal environment.

  • Cost: $4 per vehicle, up to 4 people
  • Open: Daily 8-sundown
