Sebastian Inlet State Recreation Area

Fodor's Review:

Because of the highly productive fishing waters of Sebastian Inlet, this 578-acre property at the north end of Orchid Island is one of the Florida park system's biggest draws. Both sides of the high bridge spanning the inlet—views are spectacular—attract anglers as well as those eager to enjoy the fine sandy shores, known for having some of the best waves in the state. A concession stand on the inlet's north side sells short-order food, rents various craft, and has a small apparel and surf shop. There's a boat ramp, and not far away is a dune area that's part of the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge.

  • Cost: $5 per vehicle
  • Open: Daily 7-sunset
