At the end of a strip mall, Café Chardonnay is surprisingly elegant. Soft lighting, warm woods, and cozy banquettes set the scene for a quiet lunch or romantic dinner. The place consistently receives praise for its innovative menu and outstanding wine list. Starters include wild-mushroom strudel and truffle-stuffed diver sea scallops. Entrées might include Gorgonzola-crusted filet mignon or pan-seared veal scaloppini with rock shrimp.

When I sat down to write this review I realized that nothing stood out about this restaurant, good or bad. Just average and very expensive.
