A favorite with locals since 1945, this quintessential diner with horseshoe-shape counter as well as booths and tables is loud and casual and has some of the best burgers on the island. Fresh salads, homemade pastries, and daily soup and hot-plate specials featuring comfort foods like meat loaf and chicken potpie are also available. During the week, it's a popular lunch stop for working stiffs. The staff is friendly and efficient.
