Colony Hotel

Fodor's Review:

In the heart of downtown Delray, this charming building dates back to 1926. Today it's listed on Delray's local Register of Historic Places and maintains an air of the 1920s with its Mediterranean-revival architecture. The Cabana Club is a separate property on the ocean about a mile away, with a private beach, club, and heated saltwater pool. A convivial bar and live music on weekend nights make the lobby area a great place to wind down. Fine shops selling leather goods, body products, and stationery fill the lower-level storefronts. Pros : great location; close to restaurants; shuttle to the beach. Cons : air-conditioning units can be loud; breakfast buffet servings are repetitious.
