Funky Monkey brings to the Convention Center area an enticing mix of creative American cuisine, sushi, interesting wines, and occasional entertainment—including Friday-night drag shows. Fried goat cheese, bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin with an Asian glaze, and "drunken" shellfish are typical choices. For a respite from touristy watering holes, grab a seat at the low-key bar and sip a glass of Chardonnay with a plate of seasoned-rice "monkey balls." There is a second Funky Monkey in Orlando's colorful Mills 50 neighborhood; it has a warmer, more romantic atmosphere.
