Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens

Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens Review

Sanford has had a zoo since 1923, and while there's nothing here to rival San Diego or New York, there's a certain charm about the place. In addition to 400-plus animals, including cheetahs, monkeys, and crocodiles, there's the ZOOm Air Adventure Park, with rope bridges and a zip-line through the treetops, and the Wharton-Smith Tropical Splash Ground, a mini water playground. The steam-powered 1/5-scale train that puffs around the zoo is as fun for adults as it is for kids. Take I-4 to Exit 104 and turn left on U.S. 17-92; the zoo is on the right.
