This fine-dining restaurant inside one of Lake Buena Vista's many convention hotels may have been designed as a place for execs on expense accounts to seal deals, but it has also become a haven for nontrendy locals seeking an old-fashioned romantic retreat. The architecture alone—it looks like Renaissance Venice—is enough to lure you. The entry door is topped by a giant copper dome, and the dining room has dark wood furniture, crystal chandeliers, and carpets that could grace a European palace. Deep booths are surrounded on two sides by etched glass. The waiters wear tuxes. Begin with the signature lobster bisque, an ultrarich soup topped with flaky pastry. Follow that with a good filet mignon, Dover sole, or pan-roasted veal chop in porcini cream sauce. Grand Marnier soufflé is the signature dessert.
