Popular Chain Restaurants

When all you want is a quick bite, consider these chain restaurants. They seem to crop up everywhere, and all have tables where you can sit for a few moments before heading back out to the shops and attractions.

Brooklyn Pizza: Thin crusts and good ingredients make for decent New York-style pies at Brooklyn Pizza, a local chain that has arguably the best Meat Lovers option in town. In the tourist areas, you'll find branches on International Drive (inside Magical Midway) and near the airport. www.brooklynpizzafl.com

Bubbalou's Bodacious Bar-B-Que: A trio of local smokers serves up mounds of Southern barbecue, from baby back ribs to pulled-pork sandwiches. The restaurant on Kirkman Road and Conroy-Windermere Road is minutes from Universal Orlando. www.bubbalous.com

Einstein's Bros. Bagels: For a light breakfast or lunch, Einstein's satisfies with a menu of bagels, wraps, salads, and sandwiches ordered at the counter and delivered to the table. www.einsteinbros.com

First Watch: Breakfast and lunch classics like pancakes and waffles make First Watch a popular choice for locals, who line up on weekends for Key West "crepeggs" (a crepe filled with eggs that have been scrambled with turkey, avocado, bacon, tomatoes, and Monterey Jack cheese), and Floridian French Toast with bananas, kiwi, and berries. www.firstwatch.com

Five Guys Burgers and Fries: Five Guys has a nearly cultlike following for its freshly ground beef. Fifteen toppings are available for no charge, and the fries are cut from potatoes in the stores. www.fiveguys.com

Jimmy John's: Lunchtime lines are out the door at Orlando's nine Jimmy John's, where the "world's greatest gourmet sandwiches" are essentially subs and clubs. www.jimmyjohns.com

Johnny Rockets: Burgers, chili dogs, and frothy milk shakes are served in a vibrant, '50s-diner-style environment here. There are five branches near the theme parks. www.johnnyrockets.com

Panera Bread: Fresh-baked pastries, bagels, and espresso drinks are the mainstays here, although you can grab a hearty and inexpensive meal like smoked-turkey panino on three-cheese bread or a bowl of soup served in a hollowed-out sourdough loaf. www.panerabread.com

Pei Wei Asian Diner: Bold flavors from all corners of Asia come together at these polished-looking fast-casual restaurants, where a hearty noodle bowl, orange-peel beef, or sweet-and-sour tofu will come in at under $10. www.peiwei.com

Pizza Fusion: The owners of the burgeoning chain claim to be as concerned with saving the world as they are with serving flavorful organic fare. What guests reap are tasty organic pies along with salads and sandwiches. www.pizzafusion.com

TooJay's Gourmet Deli: A New York deli it ain't, but the TooJay's chain offers a welcome pastrami fix for those with a yen for salty meat on crusty seeded rye. www.toojays.com
