Park Avenue, once an ultra-upscale enclave, was itself a tourist attraction decades before the advent of Walt Disney World. Although Luma on Park is a 21st-century place, serving what some call "new American cuisine," it's also very much in line with Winter Park's 19th-century past. The chic contemporary setting includes terrazzo floors accented by plush carpets and seating areas in alcoves that create a cozy feel. A high point is the wine cellar, which holds 95 varieties of fine wine. Menu standouts include two appetizers, the crispy duck salad and the wood-fired pizza with sausage and ricotta cheese; and a pair of entres, Kobe flank steak with shiitake mushrooms; and the black grouper filet with black rice and boy choy. Standout desserts include sweet corn pudding with blackberries and warm chocolate truffle cake with banana ice cream and chocolate sauce.
